Rail service was an important component of voter-approved Measure A and Riverside County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation pays for rail capital costs. RCTC is actively engaged in improving regional mobility through its Goods Movement program and through its commuter rail projects.
RCTC is one of five transportation commissions throughout Southern California that comprise the Southern California Regional Rail Authority, commonly called Metrolink.
Metrolink is one of the nation’s most successful commuter rail services and provides daily transportation to more than more than 15,000 passengers on the three lines that serve Riverside County: The Riverside Line, the 91 Line, and the Inland Empire-Orange County Line.
RCTC owns five rail stations located in Downtown Riverside, La Sierra, Pedley, West Corona, and North Main Corona.
The Perris Valley Line is RCTC’s next major rail project, and will extend Metrolink along the I-215 corridor to serve southern portions of western Riverside County.
In addition, the Perris Station Transit Center has created a commuter hub connecting bus service with this future rail service.
